The Green Valley Concert Band is thrilled to welcome internationally acclaimed composer and conductor Dr. Frank Ticheli back to Green Valley for a special guest conducting appearance on April 11, 2027.
Widely regarded as one of America’s most celebrated composers of concert band music, Dr. Ticheli has inspired musicians and audiences around the world with his powerful, expressive, and innovative compositions. His music is performed regularly by professional ensembles, university bands, military bands, and school organizations across the globe.
Dr. Ticheli is currently Professor Emeritus of Composition at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music and has received numerous prestigious honors throughout his distinguished career. His works, including Blue Shades, Shenandoah, Cajun Folk Songs, An American Elegy, and Vesuvius, have become staples of the concert band repertoire and are beloved by performers and listeners alike.
Known for his warmth, energy, and engaging presence on the podium, Dr. Ticheli brings a unique musical experience to every performance. His return to Green Valley promises to be an unforgettable evening celebrating the artistry and excitement of concert band music.
